True to the Dog Point house style, this atypical sauvignon impresses with its intriguing flinty, sulphide-driven profile, of evidently above average intensity and depth. The palate has a very appealing salinity, excellent depth and length, with everything nicely proportioned. Drink or hold; decant if drinking now. Best 2018-2024.

Complete contrast to the Astrolabe Province Sauvignon Blanc 2016 in this reductive style but not obscuring some of that Sauvignon Blanc fruit – green and lively. Smoky citrus on the palate, creamy texture and fullness in the mouth, even with the very crispy acidity. Lovely balance and a classic in this style. Doesn’t have the mid-palate intensity of the Section 94 but it’s an easier entry to this style. You could enjoy it now but no rush.
