Complete contrast to the Astrolabe Province Sauvignon Blanc 2016 in this reductive style but not obscuring some of that Sauvignon Blanc fruit – green and lively. Smoky citrus on the palate, creamy texture and fullness in the mouth, even with the very crispy acidity. Lovely balance and a classic in this style. Doesn’t have the mid-palate intensity of the Section 94 but it’s an easier entry to this style. You could enjoy it now but no rush.

Classic modern, dry Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc from two of the masters of the region, James Healy and Ivan Sutherland, showing notes of lemon grass, passion fruit and fresh sweat (more appealing than it sounds, honest). Nettley, zingy acidity, plenty of focus and a long, refreshing finish. My kind of Kiwi white.
