Looking for an outstanding Marlborough red that’s drinking well now? Try Dog Point Vineyard Pinot Noir 2010. Deeply coloured, fleshy and savoury, with dense plum, cherry and spice flavours and the power to age, it is already hard to resist. 5/5
This is a big, serious wine, delicious mid-winter (unchilled of course) and will bring a smile to all those who love Chardonnay with its clean, ripe intensity. The oak handling is remarkable in that it does not overtly show in oaky flavours yet has clearly had an effect on the wine. Mouth filling, hearty, dry.
