Bright pale to mid crimson. Zippy, lively fruit that’s very direct but perhaps does not display that much complexity initially. Nice balance and no shortage of fruit. No excess sweetness and certainly no evident oak or alcohol. Well behaved with a hint of violets but perhaps not such a standout as the Chardonnay 2016.
Another exceptional, burgundy-beating Kiwi Chardonnay. Definitely not shying away from matchstick on the nose, but it costs one heck of a lot less than a Coche wine. Very crystalline with good fruit focus on the mid palate. Very far from sweet. Crisp and rewarding. Great balance and fans out on the finish.
