Stephen Tanzer, Dog Point Pinot Noir 2011

Dog Point Vineyard, which routinely produces one of New Zealand’s best sauvignon blancs, has a winner in their 2011 Pinot Noir Marlborough. On the nose a sweet cherry aroma is lifted by a floral topnote. Sweet and pliant in the mouth, this shapely, suave pinot displays generous flavors of ripe red and darker berries and spices. With its fine-grained tannins and persistent aftertaste, this pinot is delicious right now.
