The inaugural Marlborough Book Fest was held on 26 and 27 July 2014 at the historic Blenheim Club in Blenheim Central. Six authors were invited to talk at the festival over 8 sessions. In 2014 Dog Point came on board as an inaugural sponsor of the event and hosted Wellington's Harry Broad and his wife, author of 'Molesworth', and sponsored sessions by both Harry and Marlborough's Ron Crosby a local author who writes predominantly non-fiction and focusing on New Zealand history.
in 2015 the Book Fest was held for a second time and Dog Point hosted four authors up at The Bell Tower on Dog Point; Christchurch Press columnist and author Joe Bennett, crime novelist Liam McIlvanney and Janet Hunt and Judith Curran who brought us Our Big Blue Backyard. Dog Point was sponsor of sessions by Joe Bennett and Our Big Blue Backyard.
We are thrilled to be supporters of this unique and valuable local initiative.
