Check your wimpy-wine-drinker hat at the door. This is bracing, nervy stuff from a top New Zealand producer. Light and juicy, it comes across with zesty grapefruit, dried grass and fistful of herbs. Try it with a goat-cheese omelet or steamed asparagus topped with chopped eggs.
The current release Dog Point Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is stunning. The aromas and flavours are crisp, fresh, vibrant and tangy with passionfruit, grapefruit and lime, and aromatic herbs like tarragon and fennel. But the x-factor is the texture. Amazing with coleslaw and a miso/sesame/ginger dressing.
