This classy, finely structured red is estate-grown on the south side of the Wairau Valley and matured for 18 months in French oak barriques (40 per cent new in 2014). The delicious 2014 vintage (5 stars) has deep, youthful colour. The bouquet is fragrant, plummy and spicy; the palate is mouthfilling, with well-ripened plum/spice flavours, showing excellent complexity and richness, in a very savoury style with gentle acidity and impressive harmony.
