2015 SECTION 94

Whole-bunch pressed and wild fermented in oak, the 2015 Section 94 is still in a bit of youthful funk. Hints of green onion and sweat appear on the nose, but the flavors are settling into a comfortable range of stone fruit, melon and pink grapefruit. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a rich, almost creamy texture and a long, plush finish. Give it another year or two and drink it over the next 5-6.

2015 PINOT NOIR

Aged in 40% new French oak, Dog Point's 2015 Pinot Noir is a pristine model of contained power. The cedary notes frame cola and black cherry fruit and channel it down the center of the fairway, a textbook drive designed to set up the second shot. That is to say, better things lay ahead for this medium-bodied wine, once it begins to evolve, loosen the shackles and spread out across the palate a bit. Give it a couple of years, then enjoy its silky-textured charms over the next 5-8 years.
