2015 CHARDONNAY

Lovely smoky nose – more smoky than struck – match. Bags of intense, rich citrus fruit, so pure and deep in fruit and all in harmony with the reductive winemaking style and herbal/fumy notes from the wild ferment. Tastes amazing with a starter of sushi and soy sauce, which brings out the savoury side of the wine, and the delicious mealy, creamy texture.

2017 SAUVIGNON BLANC

Complete contrast to the Astrolabe Province Sauvignon Blanc 2016 in this reductive style but not obscuring some of that Sauvignon Blanc fruit – green and lively. Smoky citrus on the palate, creamy texture and fullness in the mouth, even with the very crispy acidity. Lovely balance and a classic in this style. Doesn’t have the mid-palate intensity of the Section 94 but it’s an easier entry to this style. You could enjoy it now but no rush.
