2014 marks a decade of Dog Point wines. We have celebrated this exciting milestone by holding a series of vertical tastings of our wines from the past decade in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, Hong Kong, the USA and Canada.
From day one with the initial 2002 harvest our philosophy and inherent objective was centred on making regionally distinctive wines with a point of difference that would have ageability. We have always been strong believers in hands off winemaking. We like to narrow the focus to allow attention to detail and this is the reason for working with only four wines from three grape varieties that are ideally suited to the cool climate influence of Marlborough. Integral to this objective has been the use of low cropped handpicked fruit from Estate owned vineyards with the average age now over 20 years.
This decade of Dog Point celebration has provided us with the ideal opportunity to share our wines with media, distributors, sommeliers and trade customers, and at the same time allow us to explain and demonstrate the integrity and style of Dog Point Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
