The 2005 Section 94 Sauvignon Blanc is endowed with an intriguing bouquet, touches of asparagus, lime and gooseberry all with good definition. The palate is quite spicy on the entry, giving way to a grassy, gooseberry-flavored middle, then green lemon and a touch of asparagus on the finish. Fine. James Healy and Ivan Sutherland continue to produce some wonderful Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, their flagship Section 94 seeming to appear on just about every wine-list of any self-respecting restaurant in New Zealand. Ivan opened vintages that I did not taste on my previous trip to Marlborough as well as recent releases.
